Dear Kindergarten Families,
Here is what’s going on in Kindergarten this week:
Tuesday is our exciting Halloween party (9:30-10:45) that our wonderful Room Moms are organizing. It will be followed by a kindergarten parade at 11:00. Please have your child wear their costume to school (costume weapons are not allowed at school). If their costume is uncomfortable, they may bring a change of clothes in their backpacks.
We will not be having our regular Centers on Monday or Tuesday so we will not need any parent volunteers either of these mornings between 8:00-9:00. However, if you would like to come help out during our Halloween party, please come at 9:30 on Tuesday.
Writers Workshop: Last week, we made monster stories. They were sent home on Friday. Please ask your child to share their monster stories. We focused on details about what their monster looked like and a problem and solution. We will continue our narrative writing. Please share special moments that happened in their life.
Language Arts: Students will focus on the “_ig” word family as they finish reading the book called “Tan Van”.
Word of the Week: “have”
Math: We will work on solving Halloween themed word problems through a variety of different math strategies. We are also learning about tally marks. Students will practice counting with tally marks by using popsicle sticks.
Have a great week and a safe Halloween,
Mrs. Sandman
